SUBSTANCE: sheet-like article (1) for an absorbent article according to the invention includes a plurality of absorbent sections (4), each of which includes long base part (2) and particles (3) of the water-absorbing polymer attached to the surface of one side of long base part (2). In sheet-like article (1), absorbent sections (4) are arranged so that the longitudinal direction of the absorbent section is oriented in one direction. Before the liquid is absorbed by particles (3) of the water-absorbing polymer, particles (3) of the water-absorbing polymer are located inside of both lateral edge parts (2s) of long base part (2) that extend along the longitudinal direction. When the fluid is absorbed by particles (3) of the water-absorbing polymer, particles (3) of the water-absorbing polymer swell beyond the side edge portions (2s) of long base part (2), which extend along the longitudinal direction, and the position of long base part (2) in the thickness direction differs from its position before the liquid is absorbed.

EFFECT: sheet-like product for absorbent products is proposed.
