When the fluid is absorbed by particles (3) of the water-absorbing polymer, particles (3) of the water-absorbing polymer swell beyond the side edge portions (2s) of long base part (2), which extend along the longitudinal direction, and the position of each long base part in the thickness direction differs from its position before the liquid is absorbed.
