FIELD: electric motors protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices designed to protect electric motors, transformers and cable lines from switching surges (SS) that occur when switching electrical equipment based on damping the amplitude of the switching pulse, reducing the rate of voltage rise in the pulse. The SS protection device comprises a housing with a hole for cable entry, three separate single-phase RC circuits fixed on a retractable metal frame, each of which is made in the form of a non-inductive capacitor and two resistors, which are assembled according to the "star" or "triangle" scheme, moreover the non-inductive capacitor is made in a sealed case and is a capacitor, the power of which is designed to operate in circuits with the presence of higher current and voltage harmonics, the resistors are taken out of the sealed capacitor case and screwed onto the studs of each capacitor input.

EFFECT: providing high thermal resistance to higher harmonics of current and voltage, while at the same time providing the ability to assemble RC circuits according to the "star" or "triangle" scheme.
