FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the power industry and electrical engineering. The universal device for protection against internal overvoltages and partial compensation of reactive power contains a housing, inside which three high-power capacitors are fixed on a retractable metal frame using fastening elements, designed to operate in circuits in the presence of higher harmonics of current and voltage, in this case, the capacitors are high-voltage capacitors with a capacity of at least 0.6 mcF, assembled according to the "triangle" scheme using flexible high-voltage wires with silicone rubber insulation with copper tips reinforced with a high-voltage heat shrink tube, while textolite dielectric plates (partitions).
EFFECT: limiting switching overvoltages, limiting overvoltages and eliminating the conditions for the occurrence of local resonant phenomena in the mode of arc single-phase ground fault (SGF), as well as in partial compensation of reactive power in 3-10 kV networks.
