FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to functional diagnostics, and can be used to determine peripheral resistance in the arteries. To do this, in the spectral Doppler mode, bidirectional orthograde and contralateral arterial blood flow is determined by clamping the cuff of the brachial artery. At the same time, during clamping, the systolic blood flow velocity above the baseline is recorded - orthograde arterial blood flow. After removing the cuff, the systolic blood flow velocity under the baseline is recorded - the contralateral arterial blood flow. Peripheral resistance in the arteries is defined as the ratio of the heights of the maximum contralateral blood flow to the maximum orthograde one.
EFFECT: method provides an accurate determination of peripheral vascular resistance with the possibility of its use in a wide contingent of patients.
