SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology and can be used to optimise nutrient media for selective cultivation of a yeast fungus of the species Malassezia furfur (M. furfur). Proposed is a nutrient medium developed on the basis of a Dixon medium used to isolate fungi of the Malassezia genus, with the addition of a component (fluconazole) inhibiting the growth of yeast fungi of the genus Candida: the nutrient medium contains, wt.%: malt extract 3.6; peptone 0.6; bile salts 2.0; tween 40 1.0; glycerol 0.2; oleic acid 0.2; agar-agar 1.2; levomycetin 0.08; fluconazole 32 mg/l; pH 5.8 to 6.1.
EFFECT: created nutrient medium is adapted for cultivation of the yeast fungus Malassezia furfur by adding fluconazole to the Dixon medium with a content of 32 mg/l, resulting in an increase in the quality of isolation of fungi of the M. furfur species from various types of clinical material.
