FIELD: elevators.
SUBSTANCE: elevator contains a speed limitation system and a braking and/or catching device. The system has a cabin with a speed limiter, a flexible tension means, two elastic elements, a drive device, a switcher, electronic equipment. Ends of the tension means are fixed at attachment points. Elastic elements hold the tension means. The drive device is made in such a way that the tension device in a ready-to-use state has the possibility of reciprocating movement at given intervals relatively to the switcher without actuating it. The switcher is actuated, when a tensile force occurs or weakens in the tension means. Electronic equipment, based on signals from riding on the tension means, determines the actual position of the cabin or its change and issues data to an elevator control system. Electronic equipment is connected by a cable to the braking catching device. In case of inappropriate cabin movement, one or several retention magnets of the device is de-energized.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability, noise immunity, and resistance to oscillations are achieved.
