FIELD: car industry.

SUBSTANCE: indicator of the state of a car brake pad contains a braked body of rotation, a brake pad with a metal holder, and a ceramic lining connected to the mentioned holder and pressed against the body of rotation, when braking. It is additionally equipped with a metal electrode located inside the ceramic lining at a depth equal to the maximum permissible thickness of wear from the pressed surface, as well as an electric output of the electrode, a resistor, an electric oscillation generator, an alternating current amplifier with LED, a direct current amplifier with LED, a low-level signal discriminator containing a storage capacitor, a Zener diode, and LED, connected to an output of the alternating current amplifier and to an input of the direct current amplifier. The electrode output is connected to the resistor, and the resistor is connected to an output of the generator and an input of the alternating current amplifier.

EFFECT: reduction in a volume of work and time of control of the state of brake ceramic pads, and increase in the safety of road traffic.
