FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: drive apparatus for actuating a hydraulic (pneumatic) cylinder has an air supply source supplying air, a switch valve. Said valve switches the state of air supply/release into and from the hydraulic (pneumatic) cylinder, a bypass pipeline connecting the cylinder chamber on the side of the head and the cylinder chamber on the side of the stem of the hydraulic (pneumatic) cylinder, and a bypass switch valve. Said valve switches the states of air passage through the bypass pipeline. The air in the cylinder chamber on the side of the head is supplied to the cylinder chamber on the side of the stem through the bypass pipeline as a result of setting the bypass switch valve to the open state in the return stroke of the hydraulic (pneumatic) cylinder.
EFFECT: reduction in the fluid consumption and in the time required for the return stage due to the use of the released fluid medium for driving the hydraulic (pneumatic) cylinder.
