FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for generating high-amplitude pressure waves, in particular, for cleaning a boiler, containing a pressure-resistant tank (21, 40) with a combustion chamber (121) installed therein, configured to be filled with a fluid combustible material via feeding pipelines. The pressure-resistant tank comprises an outlet (306) for directional pressure relief of the gas formed as a result of combustion of the combustible material. A piston (70) covers the outlet, can open said outlet for directional relief, and return to the initial position by means of a spring apparatus. The piston seat (70), with respect to the longitudinal direction (305), has a piston surface (302) inclined obliquely to the outlet (306), opposing the surface (303) of the body, also inclined obliquely to the outlet (306), wherein the surface (303) of the body opens opposite the surface (302) the piston at an angle (304) directed toward the outlet (306), starting from the locking line (65) oriented perpendicular to the direction (90) of the piston. Also proposed is a method for generating high-amplitude pressure waves using the apparatus.
EFFECT: invention contributes to the increase in the efficiency and safety of cleaning of the cleaned unit.
