DEVICE FOR DRAINING THE PLEURAL CAVITY WITH DISINFECTION OF THE DISCHARGE BY ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61M27/00 A61L2/10

Abstract RU 2774785 C1

FIELD: medical technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical technology, namely to a device for draining the pleural cavity with disinfection of the discharge by ultraviolet radiation. The device contains a container for collecting discharge and a drainage system for withdrawing the contents from the dome and sinus of the pleural cavity and supplying it to a container with the possibility of underwater passive aspiration and control of exudate, consisting of drainage tubes installed in the pleural cavity using a guiding device - a trocar adapter. The device contains a portable unit for ultraviolet treatment, fixed inside the container on a hermetically screwed lid. Drainage tubes with a connecting device are connected to the container with a drainage system tube, fixed at one end on the container lid by means of a fitting equipped with a drainage system tube, the distal end of which is located in the container below the liquid level - an antiseptic solution - with the possibility of forming a water lock, and the valve the graduate is connected to a vacuum source with the possibility of both passive and active drainage of the pleural cavity. The connecting device is made in the form of a tee with channels for the passage of the medium. Drainage tubes are configured to be located in the pleural sinus and in the region of the dome of the pleural cavity.

EFFECT: invention provides the ability to ensure the rapid active removal of pathological fluid, blood and air from the pleural cavity in order to relieve severe respiratory and cardiopulmonary insufficiency in patients with simultaneous disinfection of the discharge from the pleural cavity with UV irradiation, including with COVID-19, significantly reducing the most risks of infection of the operating personnel.
