FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: system for monitoring modular conveyor belts (1) contains modular conveyor belt (1) with a set of plastic modules (11, 11', 11", 11"', 11"") connected together to form a continuous track driven by gear (2) with shaft (21); and passage detection devices (3, 4). Modules (11, 11', 11", 11"', 11"") have a set of control elements (10, 10', 10", 10"', 10"") inserted into their longitudinal edges, which are located at an equal distance from each other along the entire modular conveyor belt. First passage detection device (3) contains one sensor (33) for the detection of the passage of two consecutive control elements (10, 10', 10", 10"', 10"") inserted into longitudinal edges of modules (11, 11', 11", 11"', 11""), wherein the specified passage corresponds to a passage between cogs of gear (2) driving modular conveyor belt (1). Second passage detection device (4) contains sensor (43) for the detection of the passage of control element (22) located in cotter (23) drive shaft (21). Passage detection sensor (43) is attached to case (42) attached at one end of shaft (21), on which gears (2) are also attached. An output signal of passage detection sensor (43) is connected to signal processing circuit (32) located inside first passage detection device (3), thus that second passage detection device (4) is additionally provided with the possibility of detection of a passage time of control element (22) of drive shaft (21) to calculate a linear speed of modular belt (1).

EFFECT: accurate and prompt monitoring of indicators of modular plastic conveyor belts is provided.
