SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment and can be used in surgical instruments. Modular motor control system comprises one or more motor controllers each having an associated motor. One or more motor controllers are in communication with a master controller. Master controller is configured to provide control signals to the motor controllers to control the associated motors. One or more motor controllers and the associated motors may be located within a surgical module.
EFFECT: surgical module provides communication interface between the master controller and the one or more motor controllers.
