FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed to determine the operability of products made of polymer composite materials. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the method for laser exposure is used at the beginning of operation of a product made of polymer composite materials with fixation by acoustic emission of a spectral signal, and after a certain time interval, repeated exposure is carried out and changes in the structure of the polymer composite material are qualitatively and quantitatively detected by the difference in signals, the gradient of the change in signals is determined and, knowing the value of the frequency corresponding to the destruction of the polymer composite material, the time interval of the residual operability of the product is determined.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of predicting the operability of a product made of polymer composite materials (PCM) by registering with the help of an acoustic emission sensor the waveform and spectrum of the signal arising under the action of a laser.
