FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: transmitting transducer is used to excite ultrasonic vibration pulses in the polymer composite material of the analysed article; said pulses are received by a receiving transducer mounted on the surface of the analysed article at a given distance from the transmitting transducer on the same or opposite side of the wall of the analysed article; the spectrum of pulses which have passed through the polymer composite material of the analysed article is measured, based on which strength characteristics of the polymer composite material are determined; wherein additional excitation and reception of ultrasonic vibration pulses in the polymer composite material of witness samples is carried out after manufacture thereof and the spectrum of pulses which have passed through the polymer composite material of these witness samples is measured, after which the witness samples are subjected to mechanical, thermal and other damaging action which imitates operating loads; ultrasonic vibration pulses are repeatedly excited and received in the polymer composite material of the witness samples and the spectra of pulses which have passed through the polymer composite material of these witness samples after the damaging action are measured, and strength characteristics of the polymer composite material of the analysed article are determined from a defined correlation relationship.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of determining strength characteristics of polymer composite materials.
