FIELD: decorative arts.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus and methods for decorating the outer surfaces of metal containers. In particular, the invention proposes a new metering roller for the paint application assembly of a decoration apparatus. During decoration, the adjusting mechanism is capable of moving the metering roller to a first paint transfer position. In the first paint transfer position, the metering roller receives paint from the paint roller without contact with the paint roller. In an implementation variant, during decoration, the metering roller is in contact with the transfer roller and transfers paint onto said roller. When decoration is stopped, the adjusting mechanism is capable of moving the metering roller to a second holding position so that the metering roller does not receive paint from the paint roller.
EFFECT: ensured decoration of metal containers.
