FIELD: gas turbine engines protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of protection of gas turbine engine and can be used in local control systems for gas turbine power plants for various purposes. An autonomous engine protection unit (EPU) of a gas turbine plant consists of at least two blocks of temperature measurement channels and at least four blocks of channels for measuring the rotational speed of a power turbine, a processing and control unit, additionally equipped with an autonomous clock, a power converter unit, additionally equipped with noise filters, a block executive relays, an information input-output interface unit and a control and indication unit designed to provide the possibility of manually checking the operability of the EPU. A method for operation of an autonomous gas turbine engine protection unit is also presented.

EFFECT: improvement of protection of gas turbine engine.
