FIELD: explosives.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to blasting works and is intended for increasing the safety thereof by attenuating shock waves during underwater explosions and reducing the environmental impact of the explosion. Apparatus for attenuating shock waves of an underwater explosion includes a screening curtain made in the form of shells made of water-permeable fabric, filled with a porous material. The screening curtain is placed on the surface of a frame shaped as a lattice hemisphere formed by horizontal (1) and vertical (2) ribs made of metal rods, arranged along a spherical surface. The vertical ribs (2) are attached to the lower support contour in the shape of a ring (3) with a radius equal to the radius of the hemisphere. The distance between the vertical ribs (2) by the lower support contour equals 0.3 to 0.5 of the radius of the hemisphere. The distance between the horizontal ribs (1) along the arc of the circumference equals 0.3 to 0.5 of the radius of the hemisphere.

EFFECT: localisation of the explosion site on all sides, increase in the efficiency and reliability of attenuation of a shock wave during underwater explosions.
