SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for developing a deposit of high-viscosity oil or bitumen with the control of the development of a steam chamber in observation wells. The method for developing a deposit of high-viscosity oil or bitumen with the control of the development of a steam chamber in observation wells includes drilling vertical appraisal wells, the development of structural maps of oil-saturated thicknesses, and the elimination of vertical appraisal wells. The construction of paired horizontal production and injection wells located on top of each other is being carried out. A coolant is injected into horizontal injection wells with the heating of the productive reservoir and the creation of a steam chamber. The selection of products from horizontal production wells is carried out with the registration of thermograms, control and regulation of the current size of the steam chamber. After receiving structural maps, 10% of vertical appraisal wells are transferred to vertical observation wells, 90% of untransformed vertical appraisal wells are liquidated. In vertical observation wells, changes in temperature indicators are analyzed and the temperature effect on the formation is corrected. With an increase in temperature by 4-9°C, steam is injected into adjacent horizontal injection wells without changes, with an increase in temperature by 10°C and more, the volume of average daily steam injection is limited by 30%, with an increase in temperature by 0-3°C, the daily volume of steam injection is increased by 30%.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the development of a field of high-viscosity oil or bitumen using vertical wells by improving the quality of control over the spread of temperature and the steam chamber during the operation of the deposit.
