FIELD: meteorology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of meteorology; it can be used for the determination of the total cloud score. A digital photo of the visible sky hemisphere is converted into a vector of values, called a feature description, containing statistical characteristics of color channels, brightness, color tone, and intensity of the color tome of image points. A statistical model of a machine learning class is applied to the resulting vector to obtain a value of the total cloud score.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determination of the total cloud score.
