FIELD: forestry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry, in particular, to inventory of forest cover and forest-growing conditions. Remote sensing data and existing forest inventory initial data are prepared, wherein remote sensing data are multispectral satellite information and its derivatives, as well as a digital relief model and its derivatives. Prepared data are processed using machine training performed on the basis of initial data of forest inventory. Remote probing is carried out repeatedly with observation periods embracing various crown vegetation conditions, as well as taking into account spatial data contained in forest identification historical data and thematic maps.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of forest inventory.
