FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment, in particular, to weighing apparatus, and can be used to determine the total mass, weight of cargo, and the load on the axle of a vehicle. Method includes receiving a first output electrical signal from the strain gauge installed on the bridge of the vehicle and measuring the tension-compression strain of said bridge along the longitudinal axis thereof; receiving a second output electrical signal from a gauge installed on the bridge of the vehicle and measuring the tension-compression strain of said bridge along the transverse axis thereof; and calculating the value of the load on the axle of the vehicle by the difference between the first and second output electrical signals. A variant of the method includes receiving a first output electrical signal from the strain gauge installed on the upper plane of the bridge of the vehicle and measuring the tension-compression strain of said bridge along the longitudinal axis thereof; receiving a second output electrical signal from the strain gauge installed on the lower plane of the bridge of the vehicle and measuring the tension-compression strain of said bridge along the longitudinal axis thereof; and calculating the value of the load on the axle of the vehicle by the difference between the first and second output electrical signals.
EFFECT: minimised effect of fluctuations in the ambient temperature on the readings of the strain gauge installed on the bridge of a vehicle.
