FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the extraction of rhenium and platinum group metals from secondary raw materials represented by spent catalysts based on various modifications of aluminum oxide. The method includes high-temperature treatment of the catalyst with a solution of sodium hydroxide, the addition of a reducing agent during this treatment and the separation of the resulting insoluble residue from the solution. As a reducing agent, hydrazine hydrate or hydrazine chloride or hydrazine sulfate is used, which is administered preferably 1-2 hours after the start of exposure with sodium hydroxide. The insoluble precipitate is calcined, then cooled and treated with water.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce the number of operations of the technological scheme and selectively separate the target components: platinum metals and rhenium.
