SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of porous structured coatings on the surface of titanium and its alloys with high adhesive properties, and can be used in the production of composite coatings with high biological activity on titanium implants, endoprostheses and dental implants, in the manufacture of catalyst carriers and other composite materials. The method for producing a structured porous coating on the surface of titanium or its alloy includes electric arc treatment of the surface of titanium or its alloy using a combined cylindrical graphite electrode with a central channel, into which an alloying metal core is inserted, to obtain a surface layer, selective etching of the applied surface layer by immersion into nitric acid followed by washing and drying. Electric arc treatment is carried out in distilled water using a graphite electrode with an alloying metal core in the form of nickel with a purity of at least 99% at initial current values ​​of 100-105 A, while immersion in nitric acid is carried out for 3-5 days.

EFFECT: increased adhesion of a porous coating formed on titanium and its alloys by increasing the total area of its pore surface by creating a more developed substructure in the form of a system of nanopores covering the inner and outer sides of the dendrites.
