FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: bimodal reactor with radial flow is proposed, containing a cylindrical outer casing surrounding at least five cylindrical concentric zones, including at least three annular steam zones, including an outer annular steam zone, a middle annular steam zone and a central annular steam zone. At least two catalyst zones comprise an outer catalyst zone and an inner catalyst zone, wherein the outer catalyst zone is located between the outer annular steam zone and the middle annular steam zone, and the inner catalyst zone is located between the middle annular steam zone and the central annular steam zone. A distribution pipeline, made with the possibility of vertically injecting raw materials into the lower end of each of one or two of at least three annular steam zones and diverting the product from the lower end of each of one or two remaining of at least three annular steam zones.
EFFECT: improving the use of the catalyst, minimizing downtime and/or coking.
