FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: screw centrifuge for separation of suspensions is proposed. It has a cylinder-conical rotor with windows for removal of a liquid and solid fraction, an adjustment ring, a screw with spiral turns, coaxially located inside the rotor, as well as a branch pipe for draining a light liquid fraction, a cavity of which does not communicate with a cavity of a branch pipe for draining a heavy liquid fraction. Between the rotor and a trunnion with windows for draining the liquid fraction, there is an annular insert with through radial and axial holes, cavity of which do not communicate with each other. An inner radius of the annular insert is larger than a radius of solid fraction unloading, but is smaller than a radius of liquid fraction drainage in the trunnion of the rotor, and there is an annular ledge as the extension of the inner surface of the annular insert, an inner diameter of which is smaller than an inner diameter of the annular insert, on which through radial holes are placed.
EFFECT: it is possible to effectively process both two-phase and three-phase suspensions on the same centrifuge.
