FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to the production of calcium-containing vanadium slag and to the leaching of said slag. In the method, molten iron is first supplied into the converter, and a cooling agent and lime are added; then oxygen is blown from above, and nitrogen from below; upon completing the blowing, vanadium slag is left in the converter; the gas for blowing from below is replaced with oxygen; CaF2 is added to form calcium-containing vanadium slag wherefrom the leaching product is produced by acid leaching.
EFFECT: invention provides a possibility of applying a combination of firing in the presence of calcium compounds and extracting vanadium in a converter, thereby cutting the process flow for producing a vanadium-containing leaching product with molten iron, reducing the power consumption, since vanadium slag does not need to be re-fired after cooling, and significantly increasing the efficiency of oxidation and vanadium leaching.
