FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, in particular, to a method for extracting vanadium by direct leaching of sodium-containing vanadium slag. Method includes the stage of direct leaching of sodium-containing vanadium slag, wherein molten cast iron is placed in a converter for phase I of purging and oxidation. During purging, a cooling agent and soda ash are added in order to oxidise and separate vanadium, resulting in sodium-containing vanadium slag. At the end of phase I of purging, the semi-steel is poured out so that said slag remains in the converter for of phase II of purging and oxidation, resulting in water-soluble sodium vanadate. At the end of purging and oxidation, the sodium vanadate is poured out and subjected to water leaching, resulting in a vanadium-containing leaching product.

EFFECT: reduction in the duration of the procedure for producing a vanadium-containing leaching product, leading to the higher efficiency of vanadium oxidation and lowering the power consumption in the implementation of the method.
