SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and apparatus for continuous welding of a plastic sheet for manufacturing flexible packages, such as tubes. Method for continuous welding of a plastic sheet for manufacturing flexible packages, such as tubes, includes at least the following stages: positioning the sheet relative to the welding apparatus; bringing the ends of the sheet into contact with each other; creating a weld area by heating, compressing, and cooling said ends; obtaining a first time signal proportional to the weld thickness; converting the first time signal into a first frequency signal and determine the low-frequency spectrum, mid-frequency spectrum, and high-frequency spectrum; regenerating at least one secondary low-frequency signal based on the low-frequency spectrum in order to measure the weld thickness.
EFFECT: possibility of making accurate measurements on a welding machine in the production environment in continuous production settings.
