FIELD: nanotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the production of raw materials for creating elements for electronics and optics, in industrial production of composite materials, in biotechnology, biomedicine, and pharmacology. In order to produce nano-particles of quartz, gangue quartz from shungite rocks is used as raw materials, ground in a ball mill to a powder with a particle size of less than 50 mcm, held in water at a ratio of 1:10 for one day, filtered and treated with 300 W ultrasound at a frequency of 22 kHz in water for 30 minutes. The resulting dispersion is filtered, diluted with distilled water to a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml, and centrifuged at 3,000 rpm for 30 minutes. The supernatant dispersion is dried. The resulting quartz nano-particles have a crystal lattice, a specific surface area of 80 to 120 m2/g, and comprise one α-quartz phase.
EFFECT: production of nano-particles of quartz from shungite by an environmentally safe and simple method with a reduction in the labour, time, and material costs.
