FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular to methods and systems for calculating the take-off weight of aircraft. The method consists in the fact that the total mass of the VTOL is defined as the product of the mass of the VTOL with a known mass placed on its board by the ratio of the sum of the vertical acceleration of the VTOL with a known mass placed on its board in a given altitude interval at a specific operating mode of the VTOL engine system and the acceleration of free fall to the sum of vertical acceleration of the VTOL with an unknown mass placed on board at the same specified altitude interval on the same specific mode of operation of the VTOL engine system and acceleration of free fall.
EFFECT: timely provision of the possibility of controlling the total mass of the VTOL during its vertical flight with cargo.
