SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing alpha cellulose, including subjecting the raw material mass to mechanical treatment, thermochemical treatment, washing, expressing, and drying; characterised by the raw material mass being passed through a mechanical picking unit, a cleaning loosener, and a carding machine; then pre-washed in a solution of caustic soda and a wetting agent, acid-treated in a solution of 91% sulphuric acid and a wetting agent, and subjected to intermediate washing in a solution of a wetting agent; followed by treatment with an alkaline peroxide solution and three washings, the first and third one whereof are performed in a solution of a wetting agent, and the second one, after 30 minutes of cooling, in a solution of a wetting agent with the addition of sulphuric acid; the process ending with centrifugation and drying.

EFFECT: ensured production of alpha cellulose.
