FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communication, more specifically, to a method for locating and to a communication apparatus. A mobile communication gateway locating centre receives a first request for locating the terminal apparatus from a client of the locating service and determines the set of public land mobile networks (PLMN) accessed by the terminal apparatus. The gateway centre determines the first target PLMN in said PLMN set, intended for providing the locating service for the terminal apparatus, and transmits a second request for locating to the first location management function network element (LMF) in the first target PLMN. The second request for locating requests a locating service for the terminal apparatus from the first LMF.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency and accuracy of locating the terminal apparatus.
