FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine and animal science, namely to the development of devices aimed at diagnosing functional and pathological conditions of the bones of the skeleton of animals associated with their mineral resorption. The veterinary ultrasonic echo-osteometer has a measuring module consisting of a control unit with a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth controller and a USB adapter, a touch screen with an accessible interface, a programmable logic integrated circuit (FPGA), an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a high-frequency generator that generates an ultrasonic pulse, and a driver. The measuring module is connected to an external sensor assembly, including an ultrasonic emitter and ultrasonic vibration receivers. The veterinary ultrasound echo-osteometer is designed for in vivo assessment of the condition of animal bone tissue by measuring the passage time of ultrasonic pulses and displaying the calculated average ultrasound velocity with successive measurements of different areas of the bone under study.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of diagnosis in the preclinical stages of animals’ mineral metabolism imbalance.
