FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing ultrasonic pickups along a strictly oriented pattern on a human face, respectively in point A, arranged in a place of crossing median line of the face with a line, passing along top edges of eyebrows, and in point B on the median line of the face, being spaced by 1 cm downwards from the nasal septum, and in points C, D, arranged in places of crossing of normals, directed from medial and lateral angles of eye of injured side of the face, with a horizontal line, passing along a lower edge of the orbit, and also in points E, F, symmetrical with the point C, D relative to median line of the face and arranged on uninjured side of the face; measuring time period of an ultrasonic signal, being transmitted between the points A-D, A-E, B-D, B-E, C-D, E-F; comparing the results of the measurements successively, beginning from AD and AE, BD and BE, CD and EF; placing the pick up in the point B on mucosa of an alveolar appendix of the upper jaw.
