FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication, more specifically, to technologies for controlling search spaces. The result is achieved by the user equipment (UE) being able to monitor the search space (in some cases, using periodicity) for a common PDCCH so as to determine whether the UE-associated transmission beams should be used for the duration of the transmission possibility. If the answer is yes, the UE can be awakened for at least part of the transmission possibility in order to receive additional information. If the common PDCCH indicates that the UE-associated transmission beams should not be used for the duration of the transmission possibility, the UE can transition or re-transition to a standby state. The UE can switch to a new periodicity in order to monitor the search space based on the information transmitted in the common PDCCH.
EFFECT: ensured use of a common physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) so as to indicate the transmission beams to be used by the base station for the duration of transmission possibility or periodicity in order to monitor the search spaces.
