FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus preventing the distraction of the vehicle driver includes mechano-sensitive photoplethysmographs with pulse oximetry, installed along the external and internal contours of the steering wheel at points of location of the hands in the correct grip of the steering wheel, and configured to transmit data on the incorrect grip of the hands to the on-board computer in order to reduce the speed to 10 km/h. The on-board computer herein fulfils the following conditions: if at said time the driver does not put their hands on the steering wheel and continues to press the gas pedal harder, a loud acoustic signal is sounded; if at a speed above 50 km/h the sensors detect the loss of contact of the skin with the photoplethysmograph, then after 5 seconds the speed of the vehicle is started being reduced; if at a speed of 100 km/h loss of contact of the skin with the sensor is detected, then after 3 seconds the speed of the vehicle is also reduced; if at a speed above 120 km/h loss of contact is detected for longer than 2 seconds, the speed of the vehicle is also reduced, and the time should be counted by seconds accompanied by a sound.
EFFECT: safety of driving on the road is improved.
