SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. A method for predicting the productive qualities of broiler chickens by the elemental composition of the feather is disclosed, including the selection of feather samples by plucking the flight feathers of the wing at the age of 7 days, with further assessment of Al and Zn concentrations by atomic emission and mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma, while as the evaluation criterion for predicting productive qualities, the coefficient of toxic load is used, and if the value of the coefficient of toxic load is below 1.43 units, broiler chickens should be assigned to a group with a high potential for weight growth, with a coefficient value in the range of 1.44-5.61 units, to the group with an average and with a value above 5.61 units, to the group with a low weight growth potential.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible, based on the assessment of Zn and Al concentrations at the age of 7 days, to identify, both at the individual and group levels, a bird predisposed to high weight indicators in the future.
