METHOD FOR SELECTING BULLS WITH HIGH INTENSITY OF GROWTH BASED ON THE LEVEL OF TOXIC ELEMENTS IN WOOL Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A01K67/00

Abstract RU 2747469 C1

FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology and is a method for selecting bulls with a high growth rate according to the level of toxic elements in the wool including taking at 8 months of age a wool sample weighing at least 0.4 g from the top of the withers, with further assessment of the level of toxic elements: Al, Cd, Hg, Pb, Sn, Sr, determined by the methods of atomic emission and mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma and characterized by the fact that the use of the coefficient of the total toxic load of the organism is proposed as a criterion for the selection of bulls in the formation of groups by productivity which is calculated by the formula: Σtox=Al+Cd+Hg+Pb+Sn+Sr where Σtox is the total toxic load of the body, mmol/kg, Al is the amount of aluminum in the wool from the withers, mmol/kg, Cd is the amount of cadmium in wool from the withers, mmol/kg, Hg – the amount of mercury in wool from the withers, mmol/kg, Pb – the amount of lead in wool from the withers, mmol/kg, Sn – the amount of tin in wool from the withers, mmol/kg, Sr – the amount of strontium in wool from the withers, mmol/kg. If the coefficient of toxic load is less than 10.50 mmol/kg, bulls are assigned to the group of animals with a high potential for weight growth; if the coefficient is 10.51-24.00 mmol/kg, the animals are assigned to the group with an average potential and if the value is above 24.01 mmol/kg, bulls are assigned to a group with a low potential for weight growth.

EFFECT: invention can be used for the formation of groups of highly productive bulls when fattening.
