APPARATUS FOR DETECTING AND PREVENTING LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS CAUSED BY SLEEP APNOEA Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/08 A61F5/56 A61N1/36 A61M16/06

Abstract RU 2780934 C1

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely, to an apparatus for detecting and preventing life-threatening conditions caused by sleep apnoea. Apparatus comprises a nasal breathing sensor, a stimulation module, a microcontroller, and a Bluetooth module for communication with peripheral apparatus. The body of the apparatus is made of flexible TPU plastic in the form of an onlay placed behind the wearer's ear, with a retainer rounded in the upper part. The nasal breathing sensor holder extends from the retainer, configured to be placed opposite the nose. The mouth breathing sensor is located on the holder extending from the lower part of the onlay body, configured to be placed opposite the mouth. A soft printed circuit board is placed in the body. A microcontroller, two analogue-to-digital converters, a driver, a stimulation module, and a Bluetooth module are located on the circuit board. The stimulation module is made in the form of a vibration motor. The nasal and mouth breathing sensors are linked with the microcontroller via the corresponding analogue-to-digital converters. The microcontroller is connected to the stimulation module via a driver for transmitting the vibration activation command when apnoea is detected. The microcontroller is connected to the Bluetooth module for communication with the peripheral apparatus. An on/off button activated by long pressing is located on the surface of the body behind the ear and is also used to deactivate the vibrator by short pressing.

EFFECT: possibility of detecting and preventing sleep apnoea when breathing through the mouth and nasal breathing channels using a safe-to-use wireless apparatus.
