FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: fluid delivery system for controlling oxygen-enriched gas fluid delivery from a source of fluid to a patient comprises at least one source of said fluid, at least one valve assembly, coupled to said at least one source of said fluid and configured to allow flow of said fluid from the at least one source during patient inspiration. It also comprises an outlet end comprising a nasal or oro-nasal cannula in fluid communication with the at least one valve assembly, nasal flow sensor for detecting the nasal flow leakage through a patient's nasal cavity during patient inspiration, as well as detecting the nasal flow leakage during mouth inhalation to determine when the inspiration begins and to generate a signal based on when the inspiration begins, and trigger mechanism 112 communicating with said sensor for actuating the valve for triggering the fluid delivery in response to signals received from said based on said mouth inhalation.

EFFECT: flow triggered pulsed oxygen delivery for medical applications is proposed.
