FIELD: radiolocation.
SUBSTANCE: in the claimed method, assessments of a radial velocity of an object in the middle in the end and in the beginning of a smoothing interval are determined by division of assessments of the first increments of a range square in the middle in the end and in the beginning of the smoothing interval by doubled values of a distance to the object in the middle rm, in the end rN, and in the beginning r1 of the smoothing interval, as well as by a viewing range T0 of a radar. At the same time, assessments of the first increments of the range square are determined by weighted summation of a fixed sample of range squares with corresponding weight coefficients.
EFFECT: elimination of displacement of assessments of a radial velocity of objects moving along a linear trajectory, and elimination of ambiguity of determination of a radial velocity.
