FIELD: radar technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar technology and can be used to determine the ground speed of non-maneuvering objects mainly in radar stations with large azimuth measurement errors. In the claimed method, the first increment of the radial speed is estimated, divided by the review period T0 and an estimate of the radial acceleration of the target is obtained. Next, the ground speed is calculated using the formula: , where rmid and are the range and radial speed measured in the middle of the smoothing interval. The device contains a series-connected digital non-recursive evaluation filter , a divider by T0 and a ground speed calculator.

EFFECT: expanding the arsenal of technical means for determining the ground speed of objects moving along a linear trajectory.
