FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to photosensitizers for inactivation of microorganisms. Disclosed are compounds (derivatives) of 1,7-diaryl-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione, used as a photosensitizer in medical treatment for inactivating microorganisms, as well as for surface cleaning, coating products, disinfection of liquids and food products. Method of inactivating microorganisms involves bringing microorganisms into contact with at least one photosensitizer and irradiating said microorganisms with electromagnetic radiation.
EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of inactivation of microorganisms.
