FIELD: glass industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for obtaining foam glass and the production of thermal insulation materials from it. In accordance with the claimed method, charge is obtained by mixing ground glass and a foaming agent, the resulting powder charge is sintered and foamed in a continuous conveyor method on a conveyor belt made of heat-resistant elements in a multi-zone gas furnace in a reducing or slightly oxidizing atmosphere with an exposure of 20-25 minutes at a foaming temperature of 804±5°C. When leaving the foaming zone, rapid cooling is carried out to 600°C for 20±5 minutes. Next, a continuously moving bar of foamed material is cut into blocks and annealed during slow cooling for 22 hours to a temperature of 35°C, after which it is machined. At the stage of obtaining the powder charge, cullet powders of industrial colorless glass, glycerin, an aqueous solution of sodium liquid glass with a mass ratio of glass powder, an aqueous solution of sodium liquid glass and glycerin 100:(12-17):(0,6-1,2) are loaded into the mixer, as well as liquid and solid functional additives in the form of sulfuric and phosphoric acid salts and aluminum, surfactants. The particle size of the glass powder in the charge is no more than 60 mcm.

EFFECT: improving the characteristics of foam glass, namely density, thermal conductivity coefficient, water absorption, and increasing its operational properties.
