FIELD: thermometry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermometry and can be used for the manufacture of thermocouples. In the method for manufacturing thermocouples, two wire electrodes consisting of different metals are twisted together and welded together at the place of twisting by melting. The wire electrodes are preliminarily passed through two axisymmetric two-channel dies and the wire electrodes are fixed from axial movement relative to the dies, then the wire electrodes are twisted in the gap between the dies, an axial tensile force is applied to the twist, a laser pulse is applied to the twist to form a primary junction of liquid metal wire electrodes in the contact spot and, further, the separation of the resulting liquid junction into two secondary junctions, followed by the formation of spherical junctions (prills) on the twists. In addition, the formation of primary and secondary junctions is carried out in an inert gas, and a mixture of argon and hydrogen is used as an inert gas.
EFFECT: increase in the sensitivity and decrease in the inertia of thermocouples, simplifying the manufacturing process, increase in manufacturing productivity and cost reduction.
