FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chemical and technological processes of the production of methane-hydrogen mixtures and hydrogen from natural gas. The invention can be used in the chemical industry. Methane-hydrogen mixtures and hydrogen of a set composition are obtained in a column-type reactor filled with a liquid-metal heat carrier due to a contact of raw gas with the liquid-metal heat carrier of a set temperature. Natural gas is used as raw gas. Methane is pyrolyzed in the column-type reactor at set values of a linear speed of raw gas and a temperature of the liquid-metal heat-carrier.
EFFECT: invention provides for an increase in the performance of the production of methane-hydrogen mixtures or hydrogen without the formation of carbon oxides.
