FIELD: chemical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce hydrogen and solid carbon. Pyrolysis reactor of hydrocarbon gases without access of oxygen constitutes a sealed crucible with a cover, heated by an induction electric heater and containing a molten metal heat carrier containing a vertically located heat-resistant tube. The tube has radial holes in the lower part thereof for the supply of the starting hydrocarbon gaseous raw materials to the molten metal heat carrier at a temperature of 1,000±100°C by bubbling without access of oxygen. A branch pipe of the pipeline for the resulting hydrogen is located in the crucible cover. An apparatus for collecting carbon from the melt surface in the form of a rotary disk with impellers, made of a heat-resistant material, and a carbon discharge channel, is located in the upper part of the crucible at the level of the surface of the molten metal heat carrier. The disk is configured to rotate jointly with the vertical heat-resistant tube. The rotation drive is located above the crucible cover.
EFFECT: possibility of generating hydrogen and carbon in the form of soot, while eliminating the formation of greenhouse gases.
