FIELD: pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of food and pharmaceutical industries, namely, to a method for producing a fucoxanthin-containing product from brown algae. Method for producing a fucoxanthin-containing product from Black Sea algae of the genus Cystoseira includes alcohol extraction of the algae with ethyl alcohol. The freshly harvested or frozen algae is extracted with ethyl alcohol for 15 to 20 minutes at a ratio of 1:3, a temperature of 20 to 30°C and a pressure of 300 to 600 MPa in a high-pressure unit. The resulting extract is poured over with distilled water at a 3:2 ratio. Then, after 24 hours, the precipitate is filtered and dissolved in ethyl alcohol at a 1:1 ratio.
EFFECT: possibility of reducing the extraction time and achieving a high concentration of fucoxanthin in the end product.
