SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in medicine, pharmaceutical and food industries for obtaining medical preparations, immunomodulatory and functional products enriched with mixoxanthophyll and oscillaxanthin. A method for obtaining mixoxanthophyll and oscillaxanthin from spirulina biomass is presented, including the extraction of pigments from spirulina biomass with a mixture of ethanol and chloroform, characterized by using a mixture of 96% ethanol:chloroform in a ratio of 2:1 by volume to extract dry spirulina biomass, and using a mixture of 96% ethanol:chloroform in a ratio of 1:1 by volume for raw spirulina biomass, and the extraction is carried out for 2–3 days at a temperature of 5–7°C, then distilled water is added to the obtained extract in a ratio of 1:3 by volume and the resulting mixture is kept for 7 days at a temperature of 5–7°C with the replacement of distilled water once every 1–2 days, and after the concentration of mixoxanthophyll and oscillaxanthin in the form of orange-red foam, the pigments are extracted and purified by washing with chloroform 3–4 times.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain not only mixoxanthophyll, but also oscillaxanthin, the production methods of which are not disclosed in modern scientific and patent sources. In addition, the invention provides the pharmaceutical industry with spirulina minor carotenoids without involving any complex technical equipment and significant funds.
